You are your child’s
first and most important teacher. As such, you want to make his or her
learning experience pleasant and worthwhile. The key to helping your
child become a reader is by READING. You can share exciting,
meaningful times with your child by reading books. Reading together
encourages your child’s interest in reading and helps him or her develop
important skills.
Research indicates
that the most important thing parents can do to help their children
succeed in school is to read aloud to them every day. Reading together,
no matter what your children’s ages, helps them expand vocabulary,
appreciate the value of reading, understand new ideas, and learn about
the world around them. So be sure to set aside time every day to
READ, READ, READ to your children and watch them get closer to books
and to you!
