 Dear Parents, 

It is time again for the annual Fountain Green Elementary School Walk-A-Thon!  The Walk-a-thon is a major fundraiser for the PTA and the money raised allows the PTA to support many activities at Fountain Green Elementary School.   Some of the activities supported with the money raised include:  Field trips, grade-level magazines for each child, patriot program, reflections, teacher and staff appreciation, and many more!   

The walk will take place during the week of October 20, 2008.  The students will walk during their PE class.  Please have your child wear green, and bring their sponsorship paper and money to school the day of their walk. 

Who benefits?  Your child does and we need your help!!  We are asking each child to consider setting a personal goal to raise $25.00 for this event.  We are not encouraging anyone to go door-to-door asking for a donation.  Please keep your child safe and only ask trusted sources for donations.  If you prefer not to have your child ask for donations, please feel free to donate directly with a personal or family donation.  All donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

  Are you up to the challenge to be a top fundraiser for the school?  The top 3 children who raise the most money will have the privilege of throwing a pie in the face of one of the following people:      

Ø  First place: Mrs. Gerringer – Principal

Ø  Second place: Mrs. Garafola – Assistant Principal

Ø  Third place: Mrs. Taylor – School Counselor

The Walk-a-thon committee is in the process of asking businesses for giveaways for each child and a “Celebration Assembly” will be held after the event (date to be announced).  If you would like to help out with this event, please contact the Walk-a-thon committee Chair, Kim Marchman, at kmarchman@comcast.net, or email the PTA at fges.pta@comcast.net, or send a note to school with your child dressed to the PTA.  Please support the PTA and in doing so you are supporting FGES!
