In Science this year we teach four units. Each
unit is taught using a variety of learning strategies. Many units
require the students to use hands-on techniques. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
- The second unit is The Five Senses. In this unit we collect and
record information by identifying and using the fix senses and
organs associated with each.
|
|
| |
- The third unit taught covers Animals Homes. The students will
identify the basic needs of animals. In addition, they will be able
to identify characteristics of living and non-living things. The
students will be asked to complete a simple research project of an
animal of their choice. The unit ends with a field trip to the
National Aquarium in Baltimore.
|
|
| |
- The fourth and final unit is called Solids, Liquids and Gases.
The children will define liquids, solids, and gases by their
physical characteristics. They will demonstrate how matter can
change its state using heat. Thirdly the children will be able to
measure the volume of liquids, solids and gases.

We are confident that your children will find these
units extremely beneficial and interesting. |
