WHAT IS THE EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION? The Youth's Benefit Educational Foundation (Foundation) was created in 1990 for the benefit of the children at Youth's Benefit Elementary School (YBES). The Foundation is a 501C3 tax exempt organization, unique to the Harford county school system, and seeks to increase the school's partnership with the community. The Youth's Benefit Elementary School is located in Fallston, Maryland and is one of the largest elementary schools in Harford County. It enrolls over 1000 students, in grades K-5. The students are housed in three buildings on campus. WHAT IS ITS MISSION? The Foundation seeks to enhance the educational experience of each YBES student by effectively channeling the resources of the community to the school. WHAT HAS THE FOUNDATION ACCOMPLISHED? The Foundation took the initiative to network the school's computer system, surpassing Governor Glendening's five-year technology goals for the schools in the state of Maryland. We consistently have an operating budget of over $40,000 per annum, over 75% of which comes from parental support through donations or fundraising sales. WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOUR DONATIONS HELP SUPPORT?
