Monetary Opportunities

GoodSearch.com:

What if Forest Hill Elementary School earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause? Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine

GoodSearch: You Search...We Give!

GOODSHOP: is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting your favorite cause.

PTA Membership:
At FHES, we encourage all parents, faculty and staff to work together for the benefit of all of our children, by joining the FHES PTA. The PTA gives us a voice in how our children are educated. We would like to see 100% participation in the PTA. Our PTA benefits the kids in many ways, including: grade level field trips, purchase of periodicals and agenda books, purchase of special equipment needed (ex. copiers, band equipment, art equipment) and many other activities. If you would like more information about joining the FHES PTA, please contact Kathy Forthman.

Target - Take Charge of Education / School ID# 115446:

Did you know that you do not need a Target Credit Card to participate in Take Charge of Education Program? Instead sign up for a Target Check Card that offers rewards. The Target Check Card draws from your existing checking account, just liking writing a check without any fees and offers many benefits. Click here for an application http://redcard.target.com/redcard/page.jsp?contentid=rc_tck_application or apply at your local Target Store.

Here's how it works: Visit www.target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school, then use your REDcard whenever you shop. When you use your REDcardSM (Target® Visa® Credit Card, Target Credit CardSM or Target Check CardSM), Target will donate up to 1% of your purchases to the eligible K-12 school of your choice.

Don't have a REDcard? It's easy to apply. Get started in person at any Target store or go to http://www.target.com/REDcard

Giant BonusBucks:
Ask family and friends to designate our school!

What it is:
With A+ BonusBucks, points accrue with each purchase that uses the Giant Card. It even works with purchases made online with Peapod by Giant. At the end of each month, these points determine your school's cash total which is automatically credited to its account and school totals updated each month. (Please note: Gift cards, pharmacy, alcohol and/or cigarette purchases are excluded from accruing points.)

How it Works: A+ BonusBucks are rounded per transaction to the nearest whole dollar amount. At the end of each month, each school's dollar amount is determined which is then automatically credited to its account.

Scholastic Book Fair:
This fair takes place in the fall and spring. A great opportunity to buy books and learning games for the whole family, the book fair offers plenty of material for all ages. Take advantage of the opportunity for a little early Holiday/Birthday shopping while helping the PTA earn valuable dollars and the faculty earn books and instructional material. The fall book fair will run the week of October 20 - 24 with set up and preview days October 15 - 17. The spring book fair will be help in mid April. We can always use extra help with set - up as well as help during the school day while children shop and purchase books. Don't forget to check out the teacher wish lists posted in the hall during the sale. If you'd like to help or want more information please contact Beth Appleby at beth.appleby@verizon.net. The book fair allows us to earn dollars as well as free books and instructional materials for the teachers and media center. Last year we made $3,000.00 in cash plus free materials.

Spirit Wear:
Is clothing that is sold in the fall and in the spring and contains a unique school logo. The items offered for sale are not part of a fundraising program, they are simply just worn to promote school spirit and reflect one's support for Forest Hill Elementary. The students often wear spirit wear during field trips, school events and on Fridays which are called "school spirit" days. We have samples available at the school prior to and during each sale in case there are any questions. Please look for our fall flyers to be sent home on September 29th. Our sale will end on October 17th and the orders will then be available within 4 weeks, plenty of time for the holiday! The items will be sent home with the students. If you are placing an order as a gift or a secret, please mark your order form so that I can contact you to make arrangements to get you the items rather than sending them with your child. Tax is already included on the order forms and all checks should be made payable to FHES PTA. Please contact Sharon M. Wagner with any questions. Our spring sale will run at the end of April beginning of May.
