On October 22, 2014, the Greater Excellence in Education Foundation (GEEF) hosted its 10th Annual Gala, “IMAGINE – The Places They Will Go,” at the Richlin Ballroom in Edgewood. The gala honored outstanding teachers as Everyday Heroes and recognized collaborative business partners.  Twenty-five educators from Harford County Public Schools were honored for their extraordinary dedication to the education of youth.

Over 250 people were in attendance, including elected officials, county officials, school officials, business leaders, principals, teachers and many others celebrating quality education in Harford County Public Schools. Musical entertainment was provided by the Edgewood High School Orchestra under the direction of Anne Lehman.

“Tonight is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate public education in Harford County and honor these amazing individuals who make a difference each day in ensuring that every child receives a quality education,” stated Deb Merlock, Founder and President of the Foundation.

The Everyday Heroes each received a Citation from Delegate Mary-Dulany James, a Proclamation on behalf of the County Executive and the County Council from Councilman Dion Guthrie, a gift from Saxon’s and gift certificates from local businesses.  Ms. Merlock presented each recipient with their gifts, a certificate and a commemorative trophy.
