HCRASC hosts 800 student leaders from across the state
The Harford County Regional Association of Student Councils (HCRASC) recently hosted 800 student leaders from across Maryland at the annual Maryland Association of Student Councils Convention at the Hunt Valley Inn, in Hunt Valley, Maryland.  After nine months of strenuous work and effort, HCRASC produced a phenomenal spy-themed convention, equipped with leadership workshops, motivational speakers, recreational activities, educational vendors, and numerous opportunities for student leaders to network with other Student Council delegates across the state.  The “SGAgents” also elected the new officer team for the Maryland Association of Student Councils for the 2015-2016 school year.

This is the first time in many years where Harford County has hosted the Maryland Association of Student Councils Convention.  After months of weekly meetings, daily phone calls, and nightly email exchanges, it can be agreed that this event was a huge success.  Convention co-chairs included Hannah Jones (Patterson Mill High School), Dale Marx (Joppatowne High School), and Adrienne Harris (Havre de Grace High School).  A special thanks goes to Mr. Thomas Sawyer, the HCRASC advisor, for supporting our students throughout this process, and Mr. Tim Odell, the Student Government advisor from Patterson Mill High School, for taking on the role as staff advisor, in addition to Josh Gabriel, a student at Edgewood High School, who designed the logo and t-shirts for the Convention and Amanda Dorsey, the Chief of Staff.
