All kids need access to a healthy, affordable breakfast, but millions of kids don’t have it. In fact, one study shows that more than 60 percent of students do not eat breakfast each day.

This spring, Fuel Up to Play 60 is encouraging everyone to Fuel Greatness by creating school breakfast awareness and participation to ensure all kids start their day with the fuel they need to help them succeed.
Fuel Greatness aims to mobilize communities to take action and advocate for, as well as implement, alternative breakfast options in school districts nationwide.

The Fuel Greatness campaign continues in the Baltimore Ravens market by highlighting the alternative breakfast model in place at Aberdeen Middle School. The school serves breakfast in the classroom as a way to encourage more students to start their day with the fuel they need to help them succeed. This program has increased the delivery of breakfast to students, which has increased participation. Many schools with high breakfast participation have achieved these gains by moving breakfast out of the cafeteria, making it much more convenient for students to participate.

On Tuesday, April 21, 2015, Baltimore Ravens alumnus Qadry Ismail visited Aberdeen Middle School to promote the benefits of breakfast and encourage students to start their day with the fuel they need to help them succeed.
