Magnolia Middle’s Mission Transition
On August 11, Magnolia Middle hosted its Mission Transition event for incoming 6th grade students.  The event was organized and run by 12 of the school’s staff members, in addition its Boys 2 Men program.

The event, which took place in two sessions, allowed students to familiarize themselves with the building, practice opening lockers, gain some organization and study help, and work cooperatively to form a bond with their incoming classmates.  In addition, administration and staff members were available to answer questions about middle school.

Participants were given the opportunity to sign up for the event and choose their session via the school’s website.  Forty-nine students attended the morning session from 9:00 to 11:30, and 56 attended the afternoon session from 12:30 to 3:00.

What a great way to kick-off the year at a new building!
