HCPS home to 2016 Maryland Art Teacher of the Year
At the Walter’s Art Museum on November 8, 2015, S. Craig Llewellyn was awarded the 2016 Maryland Art Teacher of the Year by the Maryland Art Education Association (MAEA).  He was nominated by members of the MAEA Executive Council.  
                              
During the awards presentation, it was stated that “Llewellyn has focused on building vibrant collaborative cultures that amplify school communities. He is primarily recognized for facilitating professional development sessions focusing on visual journaling, collaboration and program articulation.”
 
Mr. Llewellyn, teacher specialist for instructional technology, is the former Art Department Chair of Edgewood High School.  Throughout Mr. Llewellyn’s 15+ years in education, he has been awarded the 2008 MAEA High School Art Teacher of the Year and 2011 National Art Education Association (NAEA) Eastern Region Art Educator of the Year.  He was a Harford County Public Schools Teacher of the Year Finalist in 2014.
 
Mr. Llewellyn will attend the NAEA Convention, March 17-19, 2016, in Chicago, Illinois, where he will be formally recognized during the NAEA State Awards Ceremony.
