Dublin Elementary School hosts Law Enforcement Day
On June 2, Dublin Elementary School hosted its first Law Enforcement Day.  The event was a chance for local and state law enforcement agencies to bring equipment and professionals to the school interact with the students and allow students to gain a better understanding of law enforcement’s role in keeping the public safe.  The event included the Maryland State Police (MSP), the Maryland Transportation Authority Police (MdTA), the Bel Air Police, the Harford County Sheriff’s Department, and the Baltimore County Police Department.

Vehicles from the various agencies were on display, including patrol cars, community outreach trailers, K9 units, and even antique MSP cars and motorcycles.  The MSP also brought a Crime Scene Investigation Van and showed the students how to lift fingerprints off of cards.  The Harford County Sheriff’s Department and MdTA Police brought K9 units and provided demonstrations of the various K9 dogs.  All of the students were able to visit and interact with each of the officers and troopers.

The students were very excited about the visit, and the school hopes to make this annual event.
