Joppatowne High School students visit 9/11 Memorial Museum

Students of the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (HSEP) program at Joppatowne High School attended a field trip experience to the 9-11 Memorial and Museum in New York City.  The students were able to view thousands of artifacts that have been collected as well as hear stories about the people who were there that day.  For many of the students, this was the first time they really were able to see what happened that day as many of them were very young on 9-11.  The HSEP students are enrolled in academic classes preparing them for college and career choices related to emergency, “first responders.” The students who are learning about careers as first responders, were very moved by the museum experience.
