following is a list of the items your child will need along with the instrument:
Books
Beginning String
Students- Essential Elements 2000, book 1 (violin, viola, cello,
double bass)
Beginning Band
Students- Standard of Excellence, book 1 (flute, oboe, clarinet,
alto saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, and percussion)Advanced Band Students- Standard of Excellence, book 1

book 1.
All students are required to have an identification tag on their case!!!!
| Flute | a cleaning rod, and a swab |
| Clarinet* | a swab, cork grease, and 3 reeds #2 |
| Oboe | a swab, cork grease, and 2 reeds (soft) |
| Alto Saxophone* | a swab, cork grease, and 3 reeds #2 |
| Trumpet | valve oil, and a snake brush |
| French Horn | rotor oil, and a snake brush |
| Trombone | slide oil, and a snake brush |
| Percussion | kit including :a pair of 2B drumsticks, a practice pad w/stand, a set of bells, and a pair of mallets |
| Violin | shoulder rest, and rosin |
| Viola | shoulder rest, and rosin |
| Cello | rock stop, and rosin |
| Double Bass | rosin |
*Please keep in mind that these instruments do not work with reeds that are chipped, cracked, or broken. It is extremely important that your child have at least 2 playable reeds at all times. We would recommend buying a box of ten, (which is cheaper than buying them individually), and keeping some at home so if an "emergency" arises you don't have to worry about running to the music store
Most music stores sell a "care kit" which contains most of these items for each instrument.
