The trumpet is the baby of the brass family. The trumpet is played with a mouthpiece and 3 valves. A trumpet player uses these valves in different combinations to play different notes. Trumpets are used in concert bands, concert orchestras, and also jazz ensembles. Some famous trumpet players include Louis Armstrong and Dizzy Gillespie.
