Supervisor of School Counseling
The Supervisor of School Counseling is responsible for providing leadership to school counseling functions in grades pre-kindergarten through twelve and for organizing activities, on a county-wide basis, which involve the school counseling staff.
The areas of major responsibility are
- formulation and interpretation of policies concerning school counseling,
- development of the budget needed to provide adequate school counseling services throughout the system,
- observation, supervision, and evaluation of school counselors,
- implementation of professional development and workshop programs which will enhance professional growth for school counselors,
- assistance in the selection of school counseling personnel,
- cooperation with the central staff and the local school administration in the interpretation of the role of the school counselor for the student, teacher and community.
