HCPS Office of School Counseling - Supervisor of School Counseling

The Supervisor of School Counseling is responsible for providing leadership to school counseling functions in grades pre-kindergarten through twelve and for organizing activities, on a county-wide basis, which involve the school counseling staff.

The areas of major responsibility are

formulation and interpretation of policies concerning school counseling,
development of the budget needed to provide adequate school counseling services throughout the system,
observation, supervision, and evaluation of school counselors,
implementation of professional development and workshop programs which will enhance professional growth for school counselors,
assistance in the selection of school counseling personnel,
cooperation with the central staff and the local school administration in the interpretation of the role of the school counselor for the student, teacher and community.
