Welcome to Meadowvale Elementary School, home of the Mustangs!  Meadowvale is located on 13 acres just outside the historic city of Havre de Grace and near the confluence of the beautiful Susquehanna River and the Chesapeake Bay. The school serves children in pre-kindergarten through grade five with a variety of programs to support the needs of all learners.  Our mission statement defines Meadowvale as an effective school community where motivated and engaged students apply what they have learned, and exceed expectations in order to become productive citizens who are career and college ready.
Our school community is comprised of dedicated and caring faculty and staff, a strong Parent Teacher Association, an active volunteer program, strong community partnerships, and a diverse student body.

The School Performance and Achievement Plan is developed each year to identify strategies and programs to maximize student achievement for every child. Student data is analyzed and used to track progress and identify the appropriate instructional group for each child in reading and mathematics.  The faculty and staff are committed to ensuring that students receive the highest quality instruction in a safe and secure environment.

Meadowvale Elementary School enjoys a true partnership with the community. Our PTA supports the teachers, staff and students in numerous ways.  Our PTA funds field trip transportation cost, cultural assemblies and special events, implements the Patriot Program, sponsors the annual Fall Festival, Holiday Shop and Spring Fling.  In addition, volunteers provide assistance in the classroom and help prepare materials for teachers.  Partnerships with local community businesses support the school in a variety of ways throughout the school year.  Meadowvale students are able to enjoy learning outdoors in the wetland area that was developed by Vulcan Materials Company, a local quarry, and one of our school business partners.  Each year, Meadowvale recognizes and celebrates members of the school community who are currently serving or have served as a member of the Armed Services in a Veterans Day Assembly.

Meadowvale offers many opportunities for students to become lifelong learners academically, as well in the arts and special areas with instruction in vocal music, orchestra, band, art, media, and physical education.  Students have the opportunity to participate in various concert performances, the Mustang Milers Club, Turkey Trot, Spring Fun Run and annual Art Show.  Meadowvale is also fortunate to offer a Sign Language Club.  Multiple sessions are scheduled throughout the year targeting a specific grade level for each session.  As a school and community family, we work to recognize the positive by celebrating students throughout the day using our Mustang Tickets and special passes.  Monthly Good News Assemblies are also scheduled to celebrate student.  The bottom line, we have fun learning! We are proud that for 59 years, Meadowvale has continued to support the motto, “What we learn today, we use tomorrow."
