About our School:
Norrisville Elementary School Mascot

Norrisville Elementary School first opened its doors to students in 1967. Located in the northwestern-most corner of Harford County, the school is nestled in a quiet agricultural community that is richly populated with orchards. Renovated during the 1996-1997 school year, the updated, air-conditioned facility provides a wide variety of educational programs to approximately 200 students in Kindergarten through fifth grades.

In addition to strong educational programs in the core subjects, Norrisville Elementary students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of school-related programs. We are proud of our school-wide Patriot Program that encourages students in all grades to demonstrate their knowledge of the values and artifacts that form the basis of our democracy. Fourth and fifth graders have the opportunity to participate in both Instrumental and Vocal music programs; showcasing their talents in two yearly productions. All of our first through fifth grade students have the opportunity to display their talents in visual arts at an annual Art Show.

Central to our school’s success is a strong commitment to parent and community involvement. Our active Parent Teacher Association provides support to the educational program in the form of both human and financial resources. Cultural events and field trips are two of the ways that financial resources add to the educational experiences of our students. Whether assisting with the Patriot or the Math Climber programs, the community consistently supports our school.

At the core of our educational program is a staff of skilled and dedicated professionals and paraprofessionals. Supported by our equally dedicated cafeteria, clerical, custodial, and support staff, our teachers provide the kind of educational programs for all of our students that are reflected in our school motto: “Norrisville Elementary School – Where Bright Futures Begin!”

Community Involvement:

The PTA provides financial and human resource support. They provide monthly cultural arts programs. Our volunteers offer an invaluable service to the children through tutorial programs; providing extra reading opportunities; and running a math facts program called Math Climber.

The PTA also provides a Book Fair twice a year which supports our school library, and provides the children an opportunity to add to their home libraries.
