About our School:
Restoration Academy Middle Charter School will offer a comprehensive program of study designed to meet state grade level and graduation requirements. The middle years of schooling, ranging from 6th through 8th grade, are an especially vulnerable and formative period for students. This transition from childhood to adolescence involves more rapid psychological development than any age after infancy. Patterns of behavior and identity formed in middle school have the ability to powerfully influence and shape students' high school experiences therefore we at Restoration Academy School understand the need to adhere to high academic standards during this critical time in order to prepare our students for the rigors of high school while attending to students' social-emotional development.
Based on the challenges unique to the middle school years, we at Restoration Academy will work towards the following ideals and precepts:
- Recognize and support the middle grades as a unique development stage apart from
the elementary and high school grades.
- Strengthen middle level organizational structures, instructional practices, and
classroom learning environments to meet the needs of the middle learner.
- Improve middle level transitions across grade levels and from middle to high school.
Restoration Academy Middle Charter School will emulate the 3 R's of public education:
Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships by focusing on the following
goals and objectives:
- Delivery and implementation of high academic standards through rigorous, data driven
instruction and assessment.
- Meet and support student social / emotional needs by fostering positive, healthy
relationships in and out of the learning environment.
- Provide leadership opportunities to develop strong academic and future community
leaders.
- Promoting collaborative leadership and professional learning communities among staff
and students.
