Planetarium Program

"Lab in the Skies"

Today's students are preparing to function in the complex technological society of the Twenty-First Century. It is essential that teachers assist students in acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to improve the quality of life through their understanding of the interrelationships between the Earth and Space. It is equally important that students develop attitudes of open-mindedness and skills of careful investigation.

"You have to forget your ego and teach kids what they need to know"

Dr. George Reed

The three planetaria, Aberdeen High School, Edgewood Middle School, and Southampton Middle School, accommodate approximately thirty six thousand student visitors each year. This is augmented by evening performances and presentations for the general public. Private and parochial schools are encouraged to arrange for visits.
