Below you will find all of the necessary steps to complete your New Hire Onboarding process!
Please follow through with each step below to complete your onboarding process.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Staff Management department at
410-588-5238 or StaffManagement@hcps.org.
STEP ONE: Fingerprinting/I-9/CPS
Your employment is contingent upon completing the I-9 form, criminal background check/fingerprinting, and the Child Protective Services Background Clearance. If you have not scheduled your appointment, you can do so by clicking on the following link:
If you actively worked or interned at HCPS within the past year, or if you have any questions, please contact the Office of Internal Investigations at 410-588-5247.
STEP TWO: Offer Letter
By now you should have received two offer letters in the mail. Please sign and return one copy to the Staffing Specialist who signed the letter within ten (10) days of receipt.
You can mail them to, or drop them off at:
102 S. Hickory Avenue
Bel Air MD 21014
One copy of the contract will be returned to you after the contract has been signed by the Superintendent of Harford County Public Schools.
STEP THREE: Virtual Orientation & New Hire Documents
For your convenience, much of your pre-employment paperwork can be completed at your leisure through the aid of our Virtual New Hire Orientation process.
You can access the orientation at https://courses.yourtrainingprovider.com. In the box to the right, click the “Sign Up Here” link to create your unique username and password. You will need the following information to register:
Code (Necessary even though it is not shown as a required field):
Once your account is created, you will see the Orientation listed and you should click on the “Start” button. Then, on the left side of the screen, click the down arrow next to Modules to display each training section. The modules will provide information about your HCPS benefits, how to enroll, and how to complete your employment forms.
The New Hire Information Packet section on the right side of this screen houses all of the paperwork you'll encounter during your training. Most documents are fillable forms and labeled according to the module they appear in. You will need to download the fillable form to complete and then print each to sign and submit. The first document found in the section is an Orientation Checklist, which will help you track your progress.
We have scheduled three drop-off sessions for your paperwork this summer! We will have notaries available if needed. Please bring each form completed to our Central Office located at: 102 S. Hickory Avenue, Bel Air, MD 21014.
You will not need to make an appointment to drop-off your paperwork during these sessions:
July 7th: 10am - 12pm
July 21st: 2pm - 4pm
August 12th: 2pm - 4pm
We cannot wait to meet you!
If you are unable to attend a drop-off session, you can mail your completed forms to:
Harford County Public Schools
Attn: Human Resources
102 S. Hickory Avenue
Bel Air, MD 21014
STEP FOUR: Additional Information
Please remember that you have 30 days after your start date to enroll in HCPS benefits. A copy of our Benefit's Guide book and a Benefit's Overview document can be found in the Helpful Information section on the right side of your screen. A link to Benelogic to enroll can be found under the Quick Links.
As a new hire, to enroll in your benefits, your User ID will be your social security number with no dashes and your Password will be the last four digits of your social security number.
Please contact the Benefits Department if you have any questions: 410-588-5275.
The Helpful Information section also holds useful documents like the Address/Name Change form, the Payroll Calendar for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year and Multicultural Course information. Please review each document in this area as they may aid your transition into the HCPS system.
STEP FIVE: Professional Development
If you haven't done so already, please register for an optional Professional Development day for Technicians, Paraeducators and Inclusion Helpers on August 26th, 2021.
To register, please email Heather Kutcher at firstname.lastname@example.org.
