North Harford’s FFA students earn Greenhand Degree
Seventeen Future Farmers of America (FFA) members from the North Harford FFA Chapter were recently awarded the Greenhand Degree during the Chapter’s sixth general meeting.

To commemorate National FFA Week 2015, the students chose to either wear a Greenhand or to dye their hand green.  Members who receive this award must be enrolled in agriculture education; start a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE); and learn the FFA Creed, emblem, colors, motto, salute, and FFA mission.  Students also must know the Chapter bylaws and code of conduct and fill out an application.  For completing these tasks, students were recognized during a Greenhand Ceremony and received a certificate and bronze degree pin.

FFA develops students’ premier leadership, personal growth, and career success, and by earning this degree, students have made a positive step towards developing these qualities.

Congratulations to our Greenhand students!
