Darlington Elementary holds food drive for the needy
Congratulations to Darlington Elementary School for recently completing a very successful food drive to help support families in need in their community.

The Darlington Elementary School Student Council wanted to help make a positive change in their community, so they planned and implemented the food drive at their school.  Student Council members created posters, counted and collected the items and delivered the food to Twice Blessed and Darlington United Methodist Church.  Both organizations provide non-perishable food to the county and to needy individuals and families within the community.

The school further promoted and supported the food drive by holding a grade level class competition for the class that brought in the largest amount of food items.

Students and staff collected more than 1,200 food items in total!

Great job, Darlington Elementary School, for helping your community!
