Chris Burley
Outdoor Educator


Christopher Burley is a Harford County native. Chris is married with three sons. He has taught elementary classes at the 3rd and 5th grade levels. Chris has fourteen years classroom teaching experience. He began his assignment as an Outdoor Environmental Teacher at Harford Glen in the fall of 2008. In the summer season, Chris takes his family to eastern Canada to visit family and recharge for the following school year.

Chris is certified in Elementary Education. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at Salisbury University.  He holds a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from Towson State University. Chris is also a nationally certified Interpretive Guide.

Chris has also participated as an instructor/research specialist for the Maryland Summer Center for Action Investigation at Harford Glen each summer, beginning in 2006. He has also served as an active Harford County volunteer firefighter/emergency medical technician since 1983 and as dive master and swift water rescue technician since 1996.
