Student Teacher Orientation Information
Welcome to Harford County Public Schools! As a student teacher, you
will have the opportunity to observe, interact, and eventually teach in a classroom
of HCPS students. In order to prepare you, your college or university has guided
you through courses and observations. We ask that you take the time to review the
following documents from HCPS in order to equip yourself to succeed in our school
system.
You will find a PowerPoint presentation below, be sure to have access to speakers
as it is narrated, about your duties as a student teacher in HCPS and what we as
a school system will provide you in addition to other presentations and information.
You will also find three documents that must be completed and submitted to HCPS
by Wednesday February 1, 2011. You may email the completed forms to
Theresa.Reilly@hcps.org or send via
courier mail to: Theresa Reilly, Professional Development Office, CEO.
If you are completing an observation this semester, please feel free to review this
information. It will assist you in your observation as it will familiarize you with
HCPS policies and procedures. Do not complete or submit the forms if you are completing
an observation. These forms are only for student teachers. If you choose to
complete a student teaching placement with HCPS, you will be asked to review and
complete the forms at that time; they will not be accepted prior.
