Thank you to the boys 2 MEN work crew that helped at Harford Glen this summer!

The boys 2 MEN mentoring program provided a work crew for the Harford Glen Environmental Education Center for the third consecutive summer.  This year, the crew was trained by Master Gardeners from the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension service.  The boys 2 MEN put their training to work in maintaining and improving the numerous native pollinator and edible gardens at Harford Glen.

In addition, the crew worked to improve the extensive trail system at Harford Glen.  Throughout one of the wettest Julys in Maryland history, they added gravel, fixed washouts, and removed debris so the trails could be safely utilized by park visitors.  Outdoor classrooms and picnic areas were also treated to a fresh coat of paint and stain.

When outdoor work was not feasible, the crew assisted in deep cleaning of our residential dorms and dining hall.  New bunkbeds were moved into place and throughout the campus preparations were made for the upcoming school year.

Harford Glen thanks the Susquehanna Workforce and Harford County Public Schools Office of Equity and Cultural Proficiency and the Harford County Master Gardeners for continuing to support the work crew at Harford Glen.
