Edgewood High's Larissa Santos Named Principal of the Year

Ms. Larissa Santos of Edgewood High School has been named the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals High School Principal of the Year. Edgewood High School was visited by Mr. Scott Pfeifer, executive director of MASSP on Friday, February 21, 2014, to deliver the award, along with flowers and balloons.

Ms. Santos will be recognized on March 22nd in Ocean City at the 2014 MASSP Spring conference. She will now go on to compete with representatives of all fifty states for the honor of National Principal of the year.

Ms. Santos has been principal of Edgewood High School for seven years and worked as an assistant principal there prior. During her tenure Edgewood High School has added numerous programs including International Baccalaureate and The Academy of Finance which includes Harford Counties only student run school based Credit Union. Most recently, Edgewood High School has been recognized as one of the Washington Post’s Most Challenging High Schools.
