Processes

The processes category describes the instructional, operational, support and supplier process educators use to achieve goals. Instructional processes might include activities directly related to teaching and learning. Operational processes might include attendance, dismissal, or transition times. Support processes might include guidance, teacher assistants, tutors, parents. Supplier processes might include pre-schools, previous grade/course level, parents, or other schools.

Those with a strong commitment to and applying best practices of the processes category will be able to explain:

  • Their PDSA process for designing, delivering, and improving their teaching and learning processes.
  • How the physical environment and culture support highest student achievement.
  • How they use quality tools as an instructional and operational strategy.
  • Their system for improving processes.
  • Their system for communicating requirements to previous grades/course levels, parents, and other stakeholders.
