Dear Parents:

Just a reminder that Fountain Green Elementary will be celebrating American Education Week during the week of November 17th.  The theme adopted by Harford County Public Schools is ”Great Public Schools:  A Basic Right and our Responsibility.”

You are invited to visit your child’s class on the following days:

Monday, November 17, 2008                    All Grade Levels, Grandparents’ and Senior Citizens Day

      Tuesday, November 18, 2008                   Grades K, 2, and 4

      Wednesday, November 19, 2008              Grades 1, 3, and 5

 The recommended times for visitation are between 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

We appreciate your compliance with the following security measures and guidelines on the day of your visit:

v  Register in the lobby and obtain a visitor’s badge.

v  Do not park in front of the school before 9:15 a.m. and after 2:30 p.m. (to allow access for buses).

v  Due to the fact that art instruction takes place in the common areas throughout the day, your cooperation in refraining from talking and congregating in the hallways is especially appreciated.

v  Childcare arrangements should be made for young children.  Space is limited and young children can be very distracting while teachers are teaching.

v  Due to space limitations we regret that visitors cannot be accommodated in the cafeteria on these days.  The PTA will provide light refreshments.

v  All cell phones and beepers should be turned off or on “vibrate”.  Conversations on cell phones should take place outside the school building.

v  Please refrain from the use of video cameras and cameras.  Some of our parents have not granted permission for their children to be photographed.

We have made every attempt to plan each day so that you will be able to observe your child engaged in meaningful learning activities based on rigorous state and local curriculum objectives.  Our staff works diligently throughout the year and has worked especially hard to provide the best possible experience for you and your child on this very special occasion.

We look forward to welcoming you as you visit classrooms and special programs throughout our building.  Your comments are always     highly valued as we continue to provide the best possible program for each child to achieve at his or her highest level.

 Sincerely,
