School Structure:
Fallston High School operates on a four-period day schedule. Students are enrolled in eight classes for the year. Some classes will meet daily for a semester, while other classes meet every other day. This schedule provides longer periods of instruction with fewer class changes.

In keeping with our “Proud Tradition of Excellence,” Fallston High School provides students with the skills and knowledge to be successful after graduation.
Our School Improvement Plan stresses our commitment to a safe, positive learning environment for all, and to the acceleration of student learning and elimination of achievement gaps. To those ends, Fallston High School has programs in character education, service learning and school safety. Students are encouraged to push themselves to succeed at the highest academic levels possible. We offer over 120 courses. An extensive Advanced Placement program includes courses in biology, calculus, chemistry, English Literature, English Composition, environmental science, European history, world history, government, physics, psychology, statistics, and United States history, and has led to Fallston being named one of America’s top 1,500 public high schools. Our faculty, in addition to graduate studies, is actively involved in improving instruction and student achievement through the formation of professional learning communities within the school.
Fallston High School enjoys a high level of community and parent support. There is an active PTSA, as well as parent support groups for the athletic program, and instrumental and choral music programs. The school also benefits from numerous business partnerships.
All of these factors combine to make Fallston one of Maryland’s finest high schools.
Community Involvement:
FHS enjoys a high level of community and parent support. There is an active PTSA which provides supplementary funds for school programs and enhancement of the school system budget. There are also parent support groups for the Instrumental and Choral music programs, the athletic program, and business partnerships. There is a volunteer program sponsored by the PTSA. Activities sponsored by these support groups enrich the overall quality of the education of the students.
The quality and quantity of community and parent involvement contributes greatly to the success of the student and the excellent reputation of the school. The building and grounds are used by a variety of community agencies and organizations. Students are involved in site improvements through the Environmental Club.
