Home of the Darlington Darters
Principal's Page
I hope that you have been visiting
our new website and found it
helpful. Our teachers work very hard
to keep their teacher’s page updated
with the weekly spelling words and
newsletters. Mrs. Graybeal is
diligent about posting them in a
timely fashion.
Darlington
Science has 27 students and are
already up and running with their
Tuesday afternoon sessions. Mr.
Daghir has been working hard to plan
a wonderful host of topics for this
year. We are lucky to have him
coordinate all of these wonderful
activities. Way to go Mr. Dahgir.
Our PTA worked
so hard in making our Fall Fest a
huge success. We had a great crowd
and the students had a blast! Our
PTA supports our school in so many
ways. Look for their upcoming
segment on our website. Mrs.
Gregory, our president is eager to
assist you with any questions you
might have. Our PTA mailbox is
located outside of the office in the
little oak cabinet.
We hope that
you have had a chance to order one
of Jim Arnosky’s books for an author
book signing in January. Mrs.
Stickles and Mrs. Hocker are working
hard to plan a meaningful author
visit. We do this each year, thank
to the PTA for funding this event.
You can contact the school at
410-638-3700 and speak to Mrs.
Stickles, but Friday November the 9th
is the deadline. We have sent three
letters home as of this date
concerning Mr. Arnosky’s books. He
will be with us on January 10.2008
.
Schedules for
American Education Week will be
coming home before Monday. Monday,
November, 12 is Grandparent’s Day.
This whole week is special in that
you are invited to come to
Darlington and see your wonderful
children work. I know that you will
be pleased with what you see we
surely have a dedicated staff here.
We hope that you will come and see
the wonderful learning that takes
place here at DES.
Thanksgiving is
coming so fast. I cannot believe
that we are very close to
Christmas. At this time of year I
always like to reflect on the many
things that I am thankful for. I am
thankful to have a wonderful family
and husband. I am also proud and
thankful that I can serve as the
principal to this wonderful little
school. I am so thankful to see
your children’s faces come in the
door each morning and greet me. Our
staff here is a family in itself.
They work together to plan
appropriate instructions each day.
I love what I do here at Darlington
Elementary. I hope know that each of
you will reflect on what a
meaningful time of year it is for
you.
Happy
Thanksgiving! |
