Classroom Learning System
The Classroom Learning System (CLS) is an organized approach to teaching and learning that focuses on the relationship between expectations, goals and measurements, and the results of students' achievement. Through a 3 credit course, Harford County Public School teachers and administrators are learning how attention to the 7 Baldrige Categories is facilitating increased student buy-in, motivation, and overall performance. CLS addresses shared leadership in schools, using parent, student, and other stakeholder input to make decisions that will most benefit the student. Through its use, students are creating realistic and differentiated learning goals and action plans with a focus on local, state, and federal expected learning outcomes. In addition, CLS is helping the educator to deliver instruction in a more effective and efficient manner.
HCPS educators value programs that facilitate student achievement, regardless of the circumstances. Training in CLS gives them the tools and processes to meet the needs of all students and uphold HCPS vision, mission, and goals.
