Aberdeen Band Students Take Home Top Awards from Competition
Students in the Aberdeen High School Parade Band, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Ensemble recently competed in the Music in the Parks event held in Atlanta, Georgia.  The trip was offered to any Aberdeen High student enrolled in one of the band classes.

Schools from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio and Tennessee also took part of the competition.

Aberdeen High earned first place with a superior rating (the highest rating possible) in each of the three categories they competed in:  Parade Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Ensemble.
One Aberdeen student, Gabe Cardella, was also awarded Outstanding Soloist for his alto saxophone solo in "After the Rain."

Finally, Aberdeen High was awarded the Overall High School Concert Band for earning the highest high school concert band score of the competition.

Congratulations to these musicians and directors!
