Room 303- Mrs. Faith Ward

This is Mrs. Ward's first year here at Roye-Williams Elementary. She comes to us from an elementary school in Anne Arundel County near Fort Meade. She taught Art K-5 there for five years. She attended Towson University and John's Hopkins University.

The Program

Roye-Williams Elementary has an Art program to offer its students that is designed to educate the children in Art History, Art concepts, and Art skills.  The program will also develop the children's thinking skills and eye-hand coordination. Students will go to the art room once a week.

 Mission Statement

The mission of the students at Roye-Williams Elementary in art class is to do a variety of art activities, learn different art techniques, develop their artistic abilities, and learn about the art of other artists and cultures. They are here to design, draw, paint, sculpt, print, appreciate the work of other artists, and have fun. They will accomplish this by listening attentively to the art teacher, trying their best, being respectful, being enthusiastic, following directions, and using their creativity.

Attire

Since students work with chalks, paints, and clay, they should come to Art class prepared to protect their clothing.  A long shirt is suggested for wear.

Art Shows

Student work is continuously displayed in the main hall of the school.  Art shows are held in conjunction with county-wide exhibits and the Spring musical concert.
