We are the pride of our community, expecting academic excellence while providing a safe, welcoming environment where a love of learning is visible and contagious. Our dedicated staff provides quality learning experiences for all members of our school family, setting high expectations for achievement and social interactions.

To ensure improvement in student achievement, academic data is constantly being monitored. Staff development and instructional strategies are designed to support the needs of the students. Instruction is delivered by highly qualified teachers and paraeducators in alignment with No Child Left Behind. With a school-wide behavior management plan and intentional teaching of character education, our students uphold the school promise:

I promise to follow all school rules, take responsibility for my work and my actions, and show respect for myself and others. I will strive to be the best person I can be – for myself, my family, and my school.

As a school wide Title 1 school, George D. Lisby Elementary School at Hillsdale qualifies for additional programs and staff members. We have a dedicated Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and there continues to be an increase in parent involvement and community and business partnerships.

As shown above, it does take a whole village, or in this case a whole staff and community. George D. Lisby Elementary School at Hillsdale is truly a “great place to learn” and it is a great place to be!
