The highly qualified staff at Edgewood Elementary School is dedicated to providing each student with a meaningful and challenging educational program. Our school’s mission is “Empowering All to Achieve!”  As such, it is the mission of all faculty and staff to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment that supports excellence and lifelong learning for all students. Teaching teams use classroom performance and assessment results to design an appropriate program for each child. Programs to support continued student achievement include SIPPS (Systematic Instruction in Phoneme Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words), Wilson Reading Systems, FUNdations, IStation, SuccessMaker, Soar to Success, Do the Math, Knowing Mathematics, as well as Gifted and Talented, Reading and Math support.

 

The Edgewood Elementary faculty and staff strongly believe in partnerships between home and school. Monthly activities are provided to allow students and families to work together and to assist parents in supporting their children at home. The parent perspective is critical in developing and sustaining a high quality learning environment for our students. Families are always welcome at Edgewood Elementary!

 

The Greater Edgewood Community is extremely supportive of our students, families, and staff. Partnerships include the United States Army, the Greater Excellence Education Foundation, the Edgewood Learning Community, local churches, and Pat’s Pizzeria.

 

The faculty and staff at Edgewood believe that all students are individuals with diverse needs and talents. When provided with a variety of learning opportunities, students will strive to meet high standards. Our vision is to foster respect and self-esteem within our community and promote successful learning for all students.
