For 60 years, Homestead-Wakefield Elementary School has been a fixture in the Bel Air community. The two building school is nestled in the woods adjacent to Bel Air Middle School and we are just a short walk from Bel Air High School.  The Homestead building (1966) services students in grades three through five. The Wakefield building (1958) services children in kindergarten through second grade and hosts regional pre-k and pre-school programs. We continue to be one of the largest elementary schools in Harford County averaging between 900 and 1,000 students.

A talented, experienced and dedicated staff is devoted to the students and the school community they serve. We are committed to providing students with a safe learning environment, high quality instruction and a rigorous educational experience. Each decision is grounded on what is in the best interest of children. Our Wildcat spirit and pride overflow with monthly spirit days, buddy classrooms, recognizing Pawesome students, character education assemblies, and more.

An involved and dedicated PTA supports school initiatives and sponsors many family events throughout the year. Highlights include book fair, spring fling, walk-a-thon, family fun nights, Reflections Program, bingo night, family food nights, and much more. Their success has entitled them to be a model for other PTA organizations to emulate.

We embrace the opportunity to work together to prepare your child for success today, tomorrow, and well into the future.  Through the combined efforts of a dedicated staff, involved parents, and motivated children, Homestead-Wakefield strives to be a model elementary school in Harford County, in Maryland, and beyond.

Sincerely,

Chris Cook
