Joppatowne Elementary is rich in history and tradition. This community-oriented school has educated several generations of the same family since 1965. During 2009, the building was renovated and modernized. Special features of the building include an oversized gym with bleachers, a television studio and interactive white boards in all classrooms. The beautiful gym allows for multiple classes to occur at the same time, full school assemblies and is frequently used by Joppatowne Parks and Recreation. It is a beautiful facility for students and staff to work and learn!

Our staff and students are focused on a sense of pride, not only in academic areas, but within the school itself and the community. The Best Star Character Education program is a strong presence in daily learning and student interactions, and promotes safe, respectful and responsible students. In addition, our students learn the value of giving back to others through school and grade level projects such as Pennies for Patients and Harvest for the Hungry. A very dedicated staff provides quality instruction that meets the needs of all learners and supports our school vision to “ensure personal, creative and academic excellence.” In addition, our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) enhances the educational process through funding field trips, supporting school activities such as Math Night, and providing family-oriented activities. A positive and welcoming environment is evident as you walk through our front doors!

Sincerely,

H. Earl Gaskins
