Riverside Elementary has been a part of the Joppatowne community for more than 46 years.  The southern-most school in Harford County, Riverside serves students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.  Rich in tradition, heritage, and pride, Riverside alumni and former faculty and staff remain loyal and proud of their school.  Many of our former faculty and students return to volunteer or participate in special events to support Riverside and its students.  Our community has grown and evolved over the years into a diverse community of learners and talented staff who care for the education and well-being of the students they serve.  We continue to evolve with the technological and social changes that face us and focus on providing a high-quality educational program and exciting learning environment for all students.

Our community includes a dedicated PTA that volunteers their time to provide events, new technology, field trips, and materials to our students, staff and families.  We are proud to have received from the Maryland PTA, the Certificate of Achievement as the school in Maryland that had the largest percentage increase in PTA members!

Riverside offers differentiated, outcome-based instruction designed to meet the needs of all learners.  Student performance is monitored closely to provide teachers and parents with up to date information reviewed regularly in order to make informed instructional decisions.

Looking forward, we are excited about building a community of learners who are eager to learn and inspired to achieve.

Respectfully,

Christopher Yancone
