Edgewood High School has a large number of programs and initiatives that enable students to be successful and promote academic achievement. A full range of Advanced Placement and Honors courses in mathematics, social studies, science, and English are available for student selection. Tutoring programs and academic assistance are provided by the National Honor Society and by the faculty on a daily basis. Students are supported by numerous programs and outstanding student achievement is encouraged, rewarded, and celebrated.

Career and technology education programs are available in the areas of child care, foods, clothing and textiles, accounting, computer programming, office technology, business, and work experience. Technology preparation programs are offered in child care, accounting, and computer information systems. Edgewood High School offers a range of rigorous instructional programs to meet the varied interests of our students. Students interested in pursuing careers in business and finance have the opportunity to enroll in the Academy of Finance program, which is available only at Edgewood High School. Students wishing to pursue a career in education are encouraged to enroll in the Teacher Academy of Maryland Program. Furthermore, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, which is an HCPS county-wide program, is available only at Edgewood High School. Academically motivated students from around Harford County are offered the opportunity to participate in a program that offers a global focus and promotes international understanding. Students who complete the program can earn advanced college standing as well as an internationally recognized IB Diploma.

Opportunities also exist for students interested in music, drama, dance, and art. A diverse offering of co-curricular programs such as Poetry Slam and Literary Magazine, in addition to extra-curricular activities including sports in every season, are provided to the students.
