Joppatowne High School is a comprehensive suburban high school enrolling over 900 students in grades 9-12. With a rotating block schedule, students take four 83 minute block classes. Block classes are year-long meeting every other day. The academic program includes numerous Advanced Placement and Honors courses. Additionally, Joppatowne High School was the first school in the nation to offer a high school curriculum program for Homeland Security. The Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness Program is a signature curriculum that is affiliated with internships and instruction from area colleges and civil defense agencies.
The staff of Joppatowne HS is committed to advancing the achievement and success of our students and community. Joppatowne High School serves the educational needs of a varied socio-economic and culturally diverse community. We are Mariners, with waterfront properties bordering two well-established suburban counties that are just minutes from the I-95 corridor. We are Mariners and continue to be an anchor of support to the Joppa-Magnolia community.
