School Structure:

Students at some grade levels at CES are regrouped for math instruction. They also receive instruction outside their classes in special area subjects.

About our School:
Churchville Elementary School Mascot

Churchville Elementary School is centrally located in beautiful Harford County. While only five minutes from I-95, it is surrounded by farmland and a wide variety of single family dwellings. Originally built in the early 1930’s, several additions and renovations have allowed the school to maintain its original charm and yet also to have updated technology, air conditioning, and other physical improvements.

The population at Churchville is very stable; many staff members have worked here for the majority of their career. Tradition and basic values are extremely important to this community. Students benefit from an extensive volunteer program, highly active PTA and a broad base of business and community partnerships.

Student achievement is the highest priority at Churchville. Focus areas in our school improvement plan include reading, mathematics, writing, decreasing the student achievement gap and character education. Many different teams share responsibility for monitoring student progress and improving learning resources. Our mission statement begins with “dedication to educational excellence”. We strive to meet this expectation every day, welcoming one and all to join us in this journey.

Community Involvment:

The Churchville community is highly supportive of its school. The PTA is very active. Its fundraisers provide students with assemblies, field trips, intructional materials, and financial support for a variety of student-based programs. The PTA was instrumental in raising funds for playground equipment, a school marquee, and general beautification of the grounds. Volunteers prepare materials, tutor students, and provide leadership in special projects such as the Patriot Program.

We hope to recruit additional volunteers to support student achievement, particulary as it relates to our School Improvement Plan. CES has partnerships with a variety of local businesses, the Army Research Lab, the Level Fire Company, and the College of Notre Dame.
