About our School:
Fallston Middle School Mascot

“Achieving with Pride” is the motto that the students and faculty live by at Fallston Middle School. Student art work will surround you as you enter Fallston Middle. You will find a warm, caring environment that allows for student excellence. Our students continually score high on state tests and met Adequate Yearly Progress on the Maryland School Assessments in all areas last year. Our special needs students are included in the regular school setting with teachers focused on student learning styles and multiple intelligences.

Fallston Middle has nine interdisciplinary teams. The team consists of two language arts teachers, a math teacher, a social studies teacher and a science teacher. The exception is in the eighth grade where one foreign language teacher takes the place of one language arts teacher. Each team of teachers meets on a regular basis to discuss instruction, how best to meet student needs and allows an opportunity for parents to meet with all of their child's teachers at one time. Students participate in physical education and unified arts on a daily basis in addition to their academic subjects.

We are involved in Professional Learning Communities at Fallston Middle. The teachers as well as students are learning new strategies and techniques to be successful. We continue to work on achieving high math and reading scores on the Maryland School Assessments. The Safety and Security Committee ensures a safe and secure environment for all students and staff.

Fallston Middle enjoys strong support from our parents and the community. PTA fundraisers have upgraded the school in many areas. They also provide for field trips, organize and chaperone school dances, fund special events, and publish the parent newsletter.

We are extremely proud of our school, its students, the faculty, and our community!

Community Involvment:

FMS enjoys strong support from parents and the community. PTA fundraisers have upgraded our three computer labs and PTA volunteers help in the classrooms, media center, and nurseís office. They also organize and chaperone school dances; fund special events; and publish the parent newsletter.

Citizens' Advisory Committee meets regularly with administrators to review the educational program and school policies. The school, in return, supports the community by providing facilities for Parks and Recreation activities, Harford Community College classes, civic association meetings, and YMCA after-school daycare programs.

FMS students serve the community by tutoring students; recycling; and protecting Chesapeake Bay watershed.
