School Structure:
The schedule begins with 7 evenly divided periods. Each major subject is allotted 50 minutes, with the addition of a 50-minute period to regroup students for either remedial instruction or enrichment activities. Two additional periods are set aside for physical education and other special subjects.

North Harford Middle School is proud of its commitment to education demonstrated by the community and school staff. This support spans the academics and the arts, resulting in high quality programs in both areas. The opening sentence in our school vision statement reflects our commitment. We at North Harford Middle strive to be a community of learners that values all its members.
The growth in student population has produced a growth in learning opportunities. On the North Harford Middle staff are a reading coordinator and an instructional leader specializing in math. The instructional program includes Integrated Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Drama, Art, Music, Computer, Health, Technology Education, Consumer and Family Science, band, chorus, and orchestra.
The PTSA is an outstanding group of people who participate in the development, implementation, and funding of nearly every school program.
Community Involvement:
The PTSA is an outstanding group of people who participate in the development, implementation, and funding of nearly every school program. Over 100 field trips are taken and numerous cultural arts assemblies are held each year with the assistance of the PTSA. More than 100 parents volunteer throughout the school year. Parents assist with the Richardson Run, the Scholarship Run, dances, tutoring, fundraising, yearbook, Citizenís Advisory Committee, Eighth Grade Week, teacher assistance, office chores, and many other activities.
Each year, the Chamber of Commerce has recognized over 25 business partners of the school. The school is used by the Department of Parks and Recreation each day of the week for 11 months of the year. The building is used by scouts, the YMCA, the 4-H, churches, community groups, and governmental agencies.
