The C. Milton Wright (CMW) High School yearbook staff attended Columbia University’s Spring Journalism Convention March 19-21 in New York City.

The CMW Yearbook Staff attended the convention as part of their ongoing training in yearbook design and journalism. Thanks to a generous parent, the staff was able to spend three days in New York City where they attended classes at one of the best journalism schools in the country. Speakers and trainers at the convention included photographers from top companies including Nike, writers from magazines including Bon Appetit and Marie Claire, and graphic designers from many companies. The staff was among 30 others that attended the convention from across the country.

“This was really a great chance for my staff to be trained by professionals working in the field of journalism and understand advanced yearbook design principals,” said Mrs. Marzullo, CMW yearbook adviser. “It really was a great opportunity for my kids.”

CMW has received top honors for their yearbooks since 2009 from Columbia Scholastic Press and National Scholastic Press.
