Six Harford County Public Schools students earned top 10 placements at the Exploring Educational Careers Educators Rising Competition held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, demonstrating excellence in their pursuit of teaching careers.

RayAnn Brezna and Jenna Dawkins, both from Havre de Grace High School, each earned second place finishes. From Patterson Mill High School, Savannah Farley took first place while Gianna Crisostomo finished second. Bel Air High School students Addy Davis and Olivia Davis placed fourth in the competition.

The students competed against peers from across Maryland and are enrolled in the Teaching Academy programs at their respective schools under the instruction of Mrs. Michelle Curry and Mrs. Kristin Maddox.

Educators Rising is a national program that prepares high school students for careers in education through hands-on learning experiences, leadership development, and competitive events. The Exploring Educational Careers competition challenges students to demonstrate their understanding of effective teaching practices and educational theory.
