Harford County Public Schools welcomed families, educators, and community partners on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, for its Gifted and Talented Parent Night, an event focused on supporting and enriching the learning experiences of advanced learners.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore a variety of enrichment resources and programs designed to challenge students and nurture their academic strengths.

A highlight of the evening was the keynote address by Anthony Vargas, Director of Advanced Academics at the Maryland State Department of Education. Vargas spoke about the importance of sparking joy in learning and recognizing the unique strengths within the Gifted and Talented community.

The strong turnout and engagement throughout the evening reflected a shared commitment among families and educators to building a supportive environment that helps exceptional students thrive.
