Bakerfield Elementary School (BES) is a small suburban school located in the town of Aberdeen. Bakerfield boasts many updated features such as multimedia library with a computer lab, a large gymnasium, and Ben Carson reading room. We focus our instructional practices on the needs of our students and design our instruction to be interactive and creative.
A strong commitment toward community and school pride has been a mainstay at Bakerfield. Our strength comes from the growing diversity of our community, which unites families from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and neighborhoods. We have been named a Targeted Title 1 school and look forward to the additional supports the school will receive. An active and supportive Parent Teacher Association (PTA) works closely with the school to provide family activities, financial assistance, and volunteers to support the needs of the students and staff. Our shared vision is to create a safe and nurturing environment where everyone is actively involved in the teaching and learning process.
Increasing student achievement is the main focus at Bakerfield. The School Improvement and Instructional Leadership Teams consistently monitor pupil progress in all areas of instruction. There is full inclusion, which allows teams of teachers to plan and co-teach lessons that meet the needs of all students. Our students receive focused instruction throughout the day and can be offered intervention programs to support areas of need during the day or before school.
With the help of a dedicated and committed staff, our school motto of “Our Community: Thinkers, Dreamers, Problem Solvers” helps to achieve our shared vision on a daily basis.
