Welcome to Forest Hill Elementary School, home of the Retrievers!  We pride ourselves on fostering robust, creative and active learning environments, where caring leads to excellence.  We are proudly supported by an outstanding PTA, and we urge all of our teachers and families to join in and help with our many educational and fun thematic events, fundraisers and experiences.

As one of the top-performing schools in Harford County, we are committed to continually increasing the rigor, engagement and meaningfulness of our instruction.  Our creative and experienced staff form a community of learners who strive to meet the needs of our students.  We implement consistent collaborative planning, block scheduling and results-oriented approaches based on the active use of ongoing student performance information.

Through the dedicated work of our staff, student and parent volunteers, and our continued support of system, community and state-wide environmental initiatives, in 2017, Forest Hill was recognized as a Sustainable Green School.  We empower student leadership through multi-age reading buddies, student-led announcements, character education programs and good news assemblies.

Forest Hill is also one of the homes for Harford County’s expanding program serving the needs of students with autism. Our STRIVE teachers, students and community continue to develop a program that sets the standard of excellence.

Our staff models the life-long learning we work to inspire in our students, and we support their efforts through a wide variety of varied professional learning experiences, always seeking to stay on the cutting edge.

We welcome you and yours to our school.

Sincerely,

Marc Hamilton
