“History Begins with Me at Red Pump Elementary”
Red Pump Elementary is located in a natural setting within a quiet neighborhood. A true community school surrounded by 18 acres as well as Parks and Recreation playing fields and parking lots, the building opened August 2011 welcoming the first group of students K-5. The students came together from four adjacent elementary schools. Together the students, families and staff at Red Pump have formed new traditions to build the identity of this relatively new school.
Red Pump is a school focused on each individual student’s success with quality staff delivering effective instruction. The caring staff holds common beliefs about learning and student achievement.
The single story school building is over 100,000 square feet with 3 wings of classrooms off the back. Each wing contains a commons area that can accommodate a grade level to meet for special programs and activities. Along the front of the building are the main office, cafeteria, media center and gym. There are also vocal music, art and instrumental music rooms. Other rooms and offices in the building add to the design for a school that meets the needs of all students. Additionally, there are three playgrounds on site appropriate for each developmental level.
State of the art Technology enhances the quality instruction provided by our teachers. Throughout the building, there are opportunities for students to have access to the benefits that technology offers. There is a tiered computer lab, TV studio, student computers available in the library, four student computers in each classroom, classroom TVs, classroom document cameras and Interactive Whiteboards in all instructional areas.
Family involvement is an important aspect of our school. The PTA sponsors many activities and programs including the Patriot program, Reflections, Wellness night, Family nights and other student activities that enrich the academics at Red Pump. Additionally, there are volunteer opportunities on a daily basis. The Family partnership is vital to the success of our students.
During our first four years, we have actively formed the traditions that will become part of our history. Faculty/staff, students, their families and the community work together making Red Pump an exemplary school oriented on student learning.
We are PUMPED up about student learning at RED PUMP!!!
