The dedicated staff of Bel Air Middle School is committed to supporting a learning community that allows our students to develop their intellectual and personal potential in a safe, comfortable setting.  Our vision is to provide a caring community that fosters rigorous academics, moral development, digital citizenship, and college and career readiness.  Bel Air Middle students continue to excel on all measures of student achievement.

To encourage and promote high achievement and rigorous standards, our School Improvement Plan focuses on the infusion of reading, writing, math, and critical thinking strategies across the curriculum and the implementation of a character education program where students are encouraged daily to Create Your Own Success Story.

Our continuous, job-embedded professional development activities, differentiated by team and department, allow our staff to implement our school improvement objectives across grade levels, to collect relevant data, and to analyze this data for continuous improvement. Full implementation of the Maryland Common Core Standards has provided quality instruction and drives rigorous daily instruction.  As well, our partnership with Towson University as a Professional Development School has helped strengthen our quality instruction. Bel Air Middle has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is comprised of an outstanding group of parents and teachers, who are actively involved in the development and implementation of numerous school programs and activities which enrich the educational experiences of all our students.

Sincerely,

Natalie J. Holloway
